Due to the recent circumstances, weddings are going to look different from here on out. It’s a scary and unsure time for brides as there is no end in sight to this pandemic and brides are being forced to cancel their big dream weddings that they have been plannings for months or even years now. The rug has been pulled out from under them. People are starting to panic, change plans and try and figure out how to make the most out of this incredibly unideal situation.
But there is still hope and it’s really not the end of the world, even though it may feel like it. You can still save your date and still have the magical love filled day you’ve dreamed of. By having something more intimate with only the people that are closest to you, and a big party later with all your loved ones is just as magical. Have you ever heard of the word “Elope”? I’m sure you have, and there’s probably a whole bunch of stigmas around that word. Like getting married in a courthouse or in vegas at a small chapel that smells like booze and cigarettes. That’s not what modern elopements have to be like. There is a whole bunch of opportunities or places you can elope at if you keep your mind open. It’s time we re-invent the word and change tradition. Do things your own way and do what feels right. You can have a beautiful day is a special place the means a lot to you and your fiance’s story, all you have to do is dream big.
Here are some of my favorite local locations you can elope in!
.
Some other locations I had in mind but never got the chance to photograph were: A bar / brewery, a bridge, a rooftop, or a boat! There are so many option out there, do some digging and find something that is meaningful to you both! If you have a awesome idea for a location, drop it down in the comments below!
The whole point of this is to encourage you all to save your date and still get married. Your family and friends will understand and be supportive of you no matter your decision, and if not, their own emotions around it will fade. The date you picked probably has meaning to you so it would seem silly to change it to something else. There are so many ways you can go about planning your covid-19 wedding, and I encourage you to have it documented so you can cherish the memories forever. Have fun planning your special day and make it totally unique to you!
Huge thank you to all the vendors involved!

Here’s the latest update for what weddings will look like going forward.
“Beginning May 27th, wedding ceremonies may take place with increased guest counts. In indoor settings, occupancy must not exceed 25% of total occupancy with a maximum of 250 people in a single self-contained space. In outdoor settings, gatherings must not exceed 250 people. Please note that at this time, this does not apply to wedding receptions. The consumption of food and beverage is prohibited. Social gatherings, such as a wedding reception, continue to be limited to 10 people.” More info can be found here.
And while we are able to start having weddings again, it is important to remember to stay safe and do your part in preventing the spread of the virus.
