What better way to spend your winter engagement session inside a nice, warm, and humid conservatory? Samantha and Adam had the right idea. The Como Zoo & Conservatory was the perfect spot for their engagement session to hide away from the cold and get some beautiful greenery in the images… which Minnesota lacks in the dead of winter. It was SO nice to escape the freezing temperatures and shoot indoors for once, but yet get some beautiful scenery.
Once the conservatory closed, we decided to finished up the session OUTSIDE. Yup, that’s right. We braved the cold to get some gorgeous photos on the frozen lake as the sunset and Samantha & Adam rocked it! Just like true Minnesotans. It was the perfect way to end our session, and they might possibly be my favorite engagement photos to date. Nothing beats a beautiful sunset on a frozen lake.
Samantha & Adam are getting married this July and I’m so pumped to work with them again. They’re planning something cool for their wedding so keep an eye out!

Shooting indoors in such a gorgeous spot was a fantastic idea — you really brought a summery feel to the dead of winter. That being said, I’m so glad you guys braved the frigid weather to get some outside shots, too — they look beautiful, warm, and full of love. Well done!
